Debra was the first person in Canada to start a full-service product placement company specializing in celebrity gifting, called Tastemakers (along with Leesa Butler, Vice-President of Operations). Modelled after swag lounges in the United States, she recognized a missing niche here, and launched the first lounge at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival.
Years later, Tastemakers is a well-recognized and trusted lounge at the festival, and has also operated at other high-profile events including the Juno Awards, Gemini Awards and more.
